Who we are

I have a background in psychology and criminology and began my career in South Africa working in social services, where I supported men experiencing complex social, emotional, and relational challenges. This work gave me firsthand insight into how social context, mental health, and life experiences shape the way people relate to others.

Over time, I developed a particular interest in the psychology of relationships and human connection. My counselling work focuses on helping people understand their relational patterns, process difficult or painful experiences, and develop healthier, more grounded ways of connecting with others.

I draw from evidence-informed approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and narrative and relational frameworks. My work is also informed by existential perspectives, particularly in exploring meaning, identity, and personal responsibility, as well as the practical philosophy of dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), especially its emphasis on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and balanced thinking. I integrate principles from these approaches in a flexible and tailored way, rather than applying a single model to every situation.

I completed my undergraduate studies in psychology and criminology in South Africa and am currently completing a Master’s degree in Australia to align my training with local professional standards. I am also a student member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and work in line with its ethical guidelines and professional framework.
